Resizing in Photoshop – Actions.

I have just uploaded another video on resizing images, this time it is in Photoshop and uses Actions.
Actions are a type of macro – this means you can record a series of actions within Photoshop and replay them at a later time as often as required.

Resizing in Lightroom, using export settings…

In the Fareham and Portchester Blog I have just uploaded a quick video showing how to use the export settings dialog in Lightroom to resize and rename images… Although aimed primarily at club members, the basic principle can be used for any similar circumstances.

Zenfolio

I have been looking around for a way to show my portfolio online in a way that is professional but does not require massive investments of time as in developing and hosting my own website.

I have used Flickr for quite a while now, but there are limitations of what you can do there. Having said that it is one of the most popular picture sharing sites on the internet. I still use it and my photo stream (collections) are here.

I also took a time to try out what Smugmug has to offer and I liked the offering they had. it looks professional and was exceptionally easy to use. The only thing that let Smugmug down for me was the fact that should I choose to allow people to print my images and buy them, the only labs available were in the USA.

I eventually discovered Zenfolio’s offering and liked what I saw. The labs can be either UK or USA (plus others) and it is very configurable and easy to keep as a professional looking portfolio site. Mine is here.

New Photographica Site

Hello all. Since I have been using the WordPress site for some time now,and because I like it’s look, the ease of use and the simple way you use it; I have moved my domain to WordPress. The original photographica site has gone and from now on it will be rebuilt here.

I hope you like the new look site, let me know what you think and feel free to comment on what you find here. Whilst I can display images here, I have also set up a portfolio site at zenfolio, take a look. there is a link at the bottom of this page.

I am pleased! One of my images, chosen to represent Fareham and Portchester Camera Club in the 2010 to 2011 season of the Southern Photographic Federation League Competition was awarded a certificate.

Reflection

The image was one of FPCC’s league entries last season and as one of the highest average scorers for the club went through to finals day where it was awarded a highly commended…
